Trio Teleboteco @ Bairro Português Festival
Trio Teleboteco plays Choro, a Brazilian instrumental genre that has its roots in the late 19th century as an amalgamation of African rhythms and Portuguese/European classical music. Characterised by lively and cheerful beats, improvisation, and typical Brazilian instrumentation, the trio have been playing with various ensembles across Sydney since 2012. Trio Teleboteco explore a repertoire of classical and contemporary composers, presenting intimate shows with the core elements of the genre: melody, harmony and percussion. The trio is comprised of Roberto Steyer (mandolin), Ricardo Steyer (7-string guitar) and Renato Feijó (pandeiro).
We’ll be playing from 17:35 to 18:05 at the main stage on Audley St & Fisher St, Petersham.

Sara Muller & Ricardo Steyer are very experienced and sought after musicians within the Brazilian Music Industry in Australia. Having performed with great artist in numerous shows over the years they built a duo project based on their passion for intimate performances, and a repertoire where they showcase the mastery of their instruments: the flute and 7-string guitar.
The music they present is called "choro", a mix of European classical music and African rhythms, very interesting and sophisticated, considered the first authentic Brazilian musical genre and inspiration for composers of samba & bossa nova.

Elastic playful and deceptive melodies, harmonies & rhythms will be presented by Sydney based diva, Nadya Golski, “contralto of power, force and conviction whose voice would light up a room if the power failed” (John Shand, SMH The Age), joining forces with Brazilian born master of Latin Jazz, Samba & Bossa Nova, Ricardo Steyer, accompanied by Roberto Steyer on bass plus magnificent Keyna Wilkins on flute, Rafal Dabrowski on piano and Antonio Muzzio on drums.
